Daniel J. BaranBaran CPA, LLC is a CPA firm dedicated to serving a client's total financial needs. We take pride in the total commitment to provide valuable professional services in a timely, efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of quality and value in the professional services that we provide. A concentrated effort is made to service all of a client's needs - both those requested by the client and those needed but unrecognized. In order to cover most possibilities we maintain a network alliance of experts in many financial areas and industries. When needed, a team of outside consultants is formulated to join our team to meet clients' specific needs.

Your Success is Our Success. Clients expect quality and service from their CPA. We go beyond what is normally expected by clients. Of course we provide traditional tax and accounting services that most businesses require, but we go beyond that by offering tax planning strategies tailored for a client's needs and constantly monitor a company's business and technology plans. We think outside the box, there are no boundaries to what a business can accomplish through proper planning. Most CPA's think of themselves as outside consultants while we consider ourselves inside client consultants. We are part of a client's team, which plans strategies that will insure the success of the business. We encourage thought and discussion outside the box. By listening to clients describe the concerns and challenge of their business, we try to formulate a plan to take advantage of new opportunities and help find acceptable solutions to current challenges.

Taxation

Daniel J. Baran's extensive tax experience spans 20 years beginning while serving on the tax staff of the international CPA firm of Ernst & Young, LLP. His tax practice concentrates on complex individual and business tax planning issues and Federal and state tax controversy issues. Dan addresses tax controversy issues such as audits, collection, bankruptcy and divorce and frequently works closely with attorneys on these matters. His extensive experience in solving these problems provides Dan with the knowledge necessary to plan avoidance of potential problems before they arise.

Dan has co-authored a series of 6 books titled "IRS Audit Protection and Survival Guide" published by John Wiley & Sons in New York. These books emphasize the importance of proper planning and the procedures necessary to prevent problems before they arise. The books cover specific issues that IRS agents are specially trained to audit in the Trucking, Bed & Breakfast, Bars & Restaurant, Attorney, Gas Retailer and Auto Body and Repair industries. Emphasis is always made on audit prevention but audit survival is also addressed in the books.

Dan is a co-founder of the Arizona Forum for Improvement of Taxation, which is a joint effort by the IRS and state tax authorities to open communications between the tax agencies and CPA's, attorneys and other tax practitioners and our taxpayer clients. He also served as past chairman of both the Arizona State Tax Liaison and IRS Tax Liaison committees of the Arizona Society of CPA's. During his tenure as chairman he represented the Arizona Society of CPA's twice at national liaison meetings at the Internal Revenue Service national office in Washington, D.C.

Business Consulting

Dan's entrepreneurial spirit began more than 30 years ago when starting his first business while still in high school. The spirit grew and continued to present day through ownership or co-ownership of many successful businesses. This extensive knowledge allows him to work well as part of a client's management team with special skills to find and examine beyond the box issues. By providing a fresh new look to both the opportunities and challenges of a business, Dan can help examine beyond the box issues such as marketing, technology and personnel. His goal is always to consider all facets that will contribute to a client's success.

Technology

Prior to returning to college to obtain an accounting degree, Dan utilized his previously acquired engineering degree for 5 years performing systems design work. This technical background and systems design training compliments Dan's business experience. This combined knowledge base is ideal when helping clients choose software, computer hardware, and other technologies to help a business run more smoothly and efficiently.
